What we document

Every Claim Starts With Proof

Before we talk numbers, we document your roof's condition from every angle, including a full drone inspection. Those are the same photos we're happy to share with your adjuster.

Answers to the questions we hear most

Should I contact my insurance company?

It's hard for us to predict whether an insurance company will cover a full re-roof or repairs. This depends on the individual adjuster and their opinion on that specific day. We've seen roofs with no damage get covered, and roofs with significant damage not get covered. It's ultimately up to you if you want to open a claim, but we do let homeowners know that any claim opened will go on their insurance record, typically for 5–7 years, even if you switch insurance companies.

What happens when I contact my insurance?

The insurance company will send an adjuster to inspect any damage and make a determination on whether anything should be covered.

Who decides on what is covered or not covered?

Your individual insurance adjuster is the only one who can determine what damage, if any, is present, and whether it would be covered. Damage from normal wear and tear, aging, or neglect is not typically covered by insurance.

I got my estimate back, now what?

We'll review your estimate with you and help determine what the insurance has decided to cover. We'll then let you know if we're able to complete the repairs for the estimated insurance pricing. If there aren't enough funds, we can begin the supplement process.

My insurance is only covering repairs. Is there anything you can do?

Depending on the current home condition, we may be able to begin a supplement process with your insurance company to attempt to get additional coverage for your home.

What is the supplement process?

When we supplement, we're working with the insurance company on your behalf to try to gain additional funds beyond the initial scope. This can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months, depending on the individual insurance company, the severity and complexity of the scope, and that company's process.

Can you cover my deductible?

Unfortunately, we're unable to cover the cost of your deductible, as there are legal repercussions in doing so. This is the case in most states across the country.

Will you meet my adjuster on-site?

We typically don't meet adjusters on-site, as we often find that adjusters feel added pressure or could be confrontational with us there. At the end of the day, it's their opinion on what's covered. We're happy, however, to provide the photos from our drone inspection to your insurance company and/or adjuster.

Insurance denied my claim. Is there anything else I can do?

Although we can't change the mind of the adjuster, if you disagree with their findings, you, as the homeowner and policyholder, can escalate the process to a manager at your insurance company or request an additional adjuster to come out and re-inspect your roof.

RCV vs. ACV: what's the difference?

Replacement Cost Value (RCV) is the cost to replace your roof with new materials of similar kind and quality, at today's prices, before depreciation. Actual Cash Value (ACV) is that same replacement cost minus depreciation for the roof's age and condition. Most policies pay RCV in two parts: an initial ACV payment to begin the work, followed by the remaining "recoverable depreciation" once the job is complete and proof of payment is submitted. If your policy is ACV-only, that depreciation isn't recoverable, and the difference is a cost the homeowner covers directly.
